Usually, its said that a “bad weather, brings a bad day”. Although it was definitely NOT sunny in Philadelphia that day, the concert was definitely out of this world-it was Cole world.
The night started off with few performances with artists like Young Chris and DJ Dummy. DJ Dummy works very closely with J. Cole, he claimed that by the end of the night we would know his name and he was definitely right. Not only did he know how to compliment J. Cole’s music but he also knew how to get the crowd pumpin’ for J. Cole.
As the show progressed, the crowd got to witness the true Jermaine Lamarr Cole. Before each song, he shared some short stories about what he had written and why. He interacted with the crowd, we laughed, we sang, we danced and by the end of the night, we were one.
He performed various songs from his latest album Cole World: The Sideline Story, Mr. Nice Watch, Cole World, In the Morning, Work Out, and so on. As if his single presence wasn’t enough to satisfy the audiences, he turned this whole night around. It went from a concert to an art performance. He sat as he sang his heart out during the song Daddy’s Little Girl and throughout the song the whole crowd had their lighters up, phones on, the cameras wouldn’t stop flashing nor did the videos stop recording because honestly, even thought he claims nobody’s perfect the lucky few who got to witness his show last night would agree with me when I say, this show was definitely perfect.
After one of his performance, he went backstage for a little while. The whole crowd demanded and chanted because truly the Cole world is better than the real world, although towards the end of the night we drifted apart as he sang Farewell, the hangover still continues for me because I can’t get over his performance.
