“YUUUP” vs “YUUUP” ? Trey Songz Lawsuit?

According to The New York Post, Hester’s lawsuit claims Trey Songz’ catchphrase resembles an “animal-like or non-human squeal which begins with a distinct ‘yeeee’ sound before finishing with a squeal-like ‘uuuup’ sound.”

Dave Hester says his auction phrase is meant to convey the meaning of ‘yes.’”

Trey sent a cease and desist letter to David Hester of the reality TV series, “Storage Wars.”

It seems that Trey Songz felt that Hester’s use of the phrase “YUUUP” during the auction portion of the show, infringes upon his trademark call. Wait, what?

As a result, David Hester filed a full lawsuit against Trey, in order to continue to use the phrase.

This is completely ridiculous... NO ONE was thinking about Trey Songz while watching Storage Wars except Trey Songz. I watch the show all the time and personally never noticed that he said it. CLEARLY, he's not trying to make it a trademark. Let it go, Trey. Smh.
