Summer Jam in Pittsburgh used to be the most anticipated
concert yearly. After a six year absence, Starr Status Ent. gave us something
to look forward to again every summer.
“SummerJam2K12” featured MMG’s very own Rick Ross, Wale, and
Meek Mill along with a variety of upcoming artists like Adam D (straight from
Canada),Pittsburgh’s, S Money, Tay
Loc, and B. Bricks just to name a few.
This was the first African-American independent promoter
event held at the new Consol Energy Center just on the border of the Hill
District and Downtown, Pittsburgh. It
was more than a success. With over 3200 tickets sold and the unfortunate
cancellation of Tyga, Pittsburgh showed up and showed out! It would be very
hard to believe anyone left the concert unsatisfied.
The notorious jokester, Lil’ Duval and Tv/Radio personality Mike Dean hosted and kept the mood more than festive. The crowd especially loved Lil Duval’s musical performance!
The time the crowd longed for started with a prodigious performance from D.C.’s own, Wale. Mister Folarin more than rocked the stage. Older fan favorites like, “Pretty Girls” and newer hits like, “Lotus Flower Bomb” filled the room with screams. The pretty girls and lotus flower bombs of the crowd appreciated these selections most. The ladies to the left of the arena must have melted when he jumped in the crowd in the middle of a song. They went crazy! We can’t ignore his attire; Those Foams were to die for.
Meek Mill showed us just how a Philly artists can rock with the Pittsburgh crowd. From “Amen” to “House Party”, he kept the crowd alive and screaming. Delivery was everything for him last night, and deliver is what he did.
The Bawse himself later appeared on stage to keep the fire going. Rick Ross took that stage and made things happen! If you weren’t a fan of Rick Ross before last night, you left as one after his energetic performance, LIKE A BOSS! He took us back to ’06 with, “Hustlin’” and we rapped every word with him, even in 2012.
Meek Mill and Wale joined Ross for the last few songs and
let Pittsburgh know how untouchable Maybach Music Group really is. The MMG
family definitely showed love to Pittsburgh at SummerJam2k12.
There is no doubt that Pittsburgh has made a comeback. With that,
Starr Status Ent. can only continue to go higher and continue to entertain more
people.
Be sure to stay look out for Starr Status events in a city near you!
