EVENT RECAP: Tamar Braxton's "Love and War" Album Showcase in LA

Hardly two months post-baby and Tamar Braxton is on the promotional trail. The R&B songstress performed a live showcase Monday night (July 29) at the swanky Emerson Theatre in Los Angeles to promote her forthcoming album Love And War. Among the guests were Tamera MowryHousley, Adrienne Bailon, Jeannie Mai (her fellow cohosts of The Real), her Epic Records team, and of course, her Tamartian friends.

The show began with The One and four background dancers took to the stage, shirtless, and the slayage began. Tamar brought the house down crooning an amazing untitled ballad perched upon a barstool. She transitioned easily into a fan favorite, the title track of her sophomore album Love And War. Its absolutely impossible for Tamar to sing this song badly. She sings with a zest that can only come from experience and passion and you feel that in every word. Her final song was "Hot Sugar". Who doesn't love Hot Sugar?!? It has the perfect balance of ratchet in it and we're so here for it.

The showcase was a success. The crowd was seemingly mesmerized by Tamar's incomparable voice. Between being a new mom, filming two reality shows, and cohosting a talk show how Tamar found the time to put on a showcase is mindboggling. We can't wait to see what she has in store with her album, set for a September 3rd release date, as well as opening for John Legend's "Made To Love" tour kicking off on October 20th. One thing is for sure: Tamar Braxton is like a fine wine. She definitely gets better with time.
