iSocialiteChat: Luke James Talks Being Accepted by the Beyhive, Touring With Beyonce And More!

Before his Mrs. Carter Show tour stop in Philly, Luke James spoke to iSocialite's Ayana over the phone. The two chatted about how the Beyhive has been treating him, what's it like to tour with Beyonce, and more! Check a few excerpts from the interview below, as well as the full audio.

On Touring With Beyonce:
Ayana: You're on probably what is the largest tour in the world right now. How do you mentally prepare for that every night? Does Beyonce give you any encouraging words on stage?
Luke: I don’t know.. you just have to dismiss fear and accept the opportunity you’ve been given. You just have to really accept the task. [Beyonce told me to] Stand your ground. No matter what. Don’t deter from what it is that you do. Don’t change because you think people want to hear "this". Give them what they’re missing, what only you can give them.

Did you ever imagine opening up for Beyonce? She personally wanted you to open up for her. Could you tell us about that day you got the news?
It was one of the things on my bucket list.. one of my life goals. For it to actually happen, is amazing. I don’t want to let her down.

Did you ever feel any pressure knowing that Beyonce is hitting the stage right after you?
You have to give it all you got, that’s the only way you’ll get through this type of tour. Getting off the stage is amazing, like “Wow we did it!” As long as I do my job and get the people going crazy a little, I’m good.

How has the reception from the BeyHive been towards you?
They’ve been very receptive. They’re kinda my fans now. It’s tough in the beginning. Again, you just have to stand your ground and make them believers. I’m grateful for them, truly.

Full audio from the Interview: Luke told us a little bit about a new movie he's in called "Black Nativity" [based off Langston Hughes' play] starring Jacob Latimore, Jennifer Hudson, Tyrese, Nas, Mary J. Blige, Angela Bassett, Forest Whitaker and more. Check out the trailer for the movie below. Looks like it'll be pretty good!
